In the old days, vests were used as undershirts to keep the little ones warm on their chests. These days vests are usually used on top of other clothes, whether it is on top of pajamas at night (for those children who kick off their blankets), over T-shirts in the summertime or under a long-sleeved wool shirt in the winter. In other words it can be used day and night all year round. Once you get used to having it in your child’s wardrobe, it is hard to do without it. For the same reason, we have been compelled to make models up to sizes for five year olds because so many customers come back to us year after year wanting to buy one in the next size. The vest is knit in the stockinette stitch, which gives a lot in width, and with a button closure so it is easy to pull over the head. It is available in many different colors.
